Protocol to defeat terrorism and establish brotherhood! Commission in 12 articles... MİT is coming to Parliament | DEM's "Imralı" proposal


The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission recently began its work to fight off the scourge of terrorism and establish brotherhood.
The commission will hold its second meeting with the participation of National Intelligence Organization Director İbrahim Kalın, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. Kalın and the ministers will brief the commission on the latest developments on the ground. They will explain the progress made in disarmament and answer the commission's questions. The meeting is planned to be closed to the press.
DEM PARTY'S IMRALI PROPOSAL
At the first meeting, the parties outlined their proposals for the upcoming period. DEM Party representatives reportedly suggested that the commission form a delegation and travel to İmralı.

Meanwhile, the working procedures and roadmap for the Turkish Grand National Assembly's National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission have been finalized. A 12-article protocol has been drawn up. The main agenda is to completely remove terrorism from Türkiye's agenda.Here is the protocol, item by item:
TERROR AND DEMOCRACY : The aim of the commission was defined as "to completely remove terrorism from Turkey's agenda, to strengthen social integration, to consolidate national unity and brotherhood, and to work in the areas of freedom, democracy and the rule of law."
DRAFT LAWS: To this end, the Commission will identify the necessary legal regulations and work on draft bills.
The public will be informed about the work of the commission.
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, at the first meeting of the commission established in line with the goal of "Turkey Without Terrorism" (AA)
CHAIRMAN KURTULMUŞ: Numan Kurtulmuş, as Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, will chair the commission. If he is not present, a member he designates will chair the meeting.
QUALIFIED MAJORITY: The quorum for a Commission meeting will be a simple majority of the total number of members. Decisions regarding the preparation of legislative proposals will be made by a 5/3 majority of the total number of members. For other decisions, the quorum will be a simple majority of the meeting participants.
NOT CLEAR YET: The commission meeting discussed whether the number of members required for a qualified majority would be 51 or 48 (since the İyi Party refused to provide members). No definitive decision has been reached. This will be clarified in the coming days, but 48 is reportedly gaining ground.
MINUTES: Full minutes will be kept at Commission meetings.
UNIVERSITIES AND NGOs: If the Commission deems it necessary, experts from public institutions and organizations, universities and non-governmental organizations may also be assigned.
SOME MEETINGS ARE CLOSED: Meetings other than those decided to be closed will be open to the press.
UNTIL DECEMBER 31: The Commission will continue its work until December 31, 2025. At the end of this period, the period may be extended by up to two months at a time with a 5/3 majority of the total number of members.
